Steve Wald has been playing
guitar professionally for 25 years.
Currently he plays bass and
harmonica for the Columbus area
band "Soul Satyr". In October of
2005 Soul Satyr placed 2nd in the
Columbus Blues Alliance "Blues
Challenge", a contest among the
best blues bands in the area for
best live performance. The band
does not ordinarily strictly play
blues , but we did for the contest.
Soul Satyr came in first in the
original blues recording category
in 2005 and in 2007.
About Steve's Guitar lessons and Bass lessons
- I teach all pop styles: rock, pop, country, folk, fingerpicking, slide guitar, etc.
- I teach advanced students music theory, if they show an interest.
- I teach using method books which teach the student to read music for guitar while also learning pop
styles(reading is not required for students who are not interested).
- I also encourage students(except very young kids) to bring in CD's of songs they would like to learn,
even if they are beginners. This is what really makes learning guitar fun for most students.
